There is an emerging Consortium of organizations interested in improving science education in the Bay Area. To begin to address the issues identified in this research study, consortium members are recommending that schools and school districts work closely with science-rich institutions in the Bay Area to increase their capacity to support high quality science instruction. They also urge state and federal policy makers to ensure that educational policies support quality science education, and to ensure that schools and school districts have the resources they need to develop, support and implement effective science education programs.
