What’s Up Activity

This fun interactive lets kids explore objects that can be seen in the day or night sky. One object at a time, click on BIRD, SUN, and PARACHUTE in the day sky, or SATELLITE, MOON, and NEBULA in the night sky. You'll discover the size of these objects and their distances from Earth's surface, as the information appears at the bottom of the screen. After you choose an object to explore, you can also click on "click here for more images" or on the small photo in the lower left-hand corner. This will open an interactive photo album of the object you just selected. Switch between day and night screens simply by using the mouse to click the "day" or "night" button in the bottom center of the interactive.
