Jupiter’s Moons

Jupiter’s Moons Activity

There are three activities to explore within Galileo's study. First you can simulate Galileo's famous nine-night observations of Jupiter's moons, by selecting the telescope to the left. In the telescope view, use the Back and Next arrows to navigate through the nine nights. Second you can select the book on Galileo's table to reveal his actual observations on Jupiter's moons. Third you can observe the side and top view animations of Jupiter and its moons by clicking on the model orrery. Use the Play button to start the animation. The top and side views are synchronized. Elapsed time is counted in Earth days.
