SPACES: Solving Problems of Access
to Careers in Engineering and Science
SPACES is a collection of 32 activities designed to stimulate
students' thinking about scientific and technical careers by developing problem-solving
skills, promoting positive attitudes toward the study of mathematics, increasing
interest and knowledge about scientific work, strengthening spatial skills and developing
familiarity with mechanical tools. The collection is designed for use by elementary
and secondary classroom teachers, educators providing in-service teacher training
and leaders in informal learning situations.
